Final Evaluation (Final Draft)
As the Elite Company we have planned a new product to release this
year and this time it will be fashion clothing for the new Spring Collection
2016. We decided to produce a 30 seconds long TV advert that will then be aired
around 18:00 in the evening.
This advert will
be targeting audiences from 13-23 years old, as they will be more likely to
watch ads such as fashion clothing and buy this product. The clothing will
contain the logo 'Elite' as the tag of the clothes. The types will both be
casual and formal clothes therefore it can be wear any time and anywhere you
go. This advert will make you feel energetic, fresh, and will definitely make
you feel the presence of spring.
This advert is
designed to make the target audience enjoy it whilst being attract to the
clothes. The idea was to film in the park to show spring and the cast's job is
to present the clothing in their own way that will make others would want to
join in by wearing the clothing that we have designed.
Before we can
produce an advert we first have to carry out audience's feedback and to do so
we have created a questionnaire at surveymonkey.com to see what would the
audience would like to see in a fashion clothing advert. The sorts of questions
that we have asked are such as; what season of the year do you prefer? What is
your age; what type of designer brand do you prefer; what type of clothing do
you prefer to wear...These questions will help us think what type of clothing
we should advertise. For example, the reason I have asked what their age is to
have a roughly idea of what could be our target audience be and the result was
13-23 as we have gathered the results from our survey. Another question was
'what season of the year do you prefer' so that we know that we advert a fashion
advert for spring that means many customers will buy since this is their most
liked season of the year. It worked! All of the questions that we have asked
managed to help us plan out some ideas for our advert.
After presenting
our finished advert and receiving comments from audience, peers, tutors and
client we were able to hear their feedback. As for most people, they have said
that the advert was really good and it manages to excite them in some ways
whereas others thinks there's still improvements it needs to be a proper good
and well edited advert. We received none negative comments from those who have
seen the adverts but they have said that I could improve the adverts by having
it with 'slower pace', 'show more of the clothing' and others. In my opinion, I
think that have asked most of the basic questions that needed to be answered
therefor I am satisfied with the comments that I have received however, I would
like to have more opinions about it only if I could learn more about how to ask
a proper questions in terms of advertising.
From my own
point of view about the advert that I have produced I would say that 'It's not
bad' the reason for this is because I am not the type of person who have edited
a video before nevertheless an advert therefore I would praise myself for doing
a good job at producing this advert. On the other hand, I did find things that
need improvements even before I have heard my comments from my audience. I knew
all along that I had made some part have a faster pace than a normal pace but I
thought it would be alright but then after hearing my audience comments I have
come to realised that leaving the pace as it is when you think its wrong is not
a good idea as it messes up the rest. Therefore, the second time I will have
the chance to edit an advert again I’ll make sure that it is not to fast.
Overall, with the comments that I have received I agree with all of them 'show
more of the clothing' I agree with this comment because this is fashion
clothing advert therefore the audience got to see more the clothes rather than neither
the faces of the model nor the surrounding of the location. I am grateful to
have these comments, as they will help me improve.
From the way the
shots had been taken and had been recorded I would say that it was technically
good as the shots was steady since we have used a tripod to place the camera
therefore the are no shaking shots seen. The framing was a okay but need
improving since while I was editing I realised that some of the shots are not
in centre therefore while I was editing I had to change it position. The camera
movements was alright since at first we were able to take shots of the sky
while bringing it back down slowly but then it was a bit too fast the way it
fast taken therefore I had to slower the pace down for that certain scene.
Overall I think that it was still good even though there is an improvement that
has to be done next time.
The way I had
edited the advert shows clearly what the product is as said from one of
audience. I was able to show what the product is through text such as titles
and the way the model was shown. From my own opinion, I would say that the
product is successfully can be sell as others have already said it is
'exciting' and the theme behind the advert is spring in which the people who
have answered my survey have said.
With the way we
have taken the scenes is need to be improved. The reason for this was that I
realised even on the day we were filming that the pace of how we have taken the
shots are either too quick or too slow. It needs to be just in a normal pace so
it’s easier for us to edit it without having any trouble of worrying that we
have edited that scene too fast again. Furthermore, it's better to take shots
as many as possible of different type of scenes so that on the day that we are
editing we can choose which scene will go nicely with the next one since we got
more options in our hands.
Overall, the
advert turned out to be really good despite the fact that our storyboard was a
bit messy. At first I thought that this advert wouldn’t go nicely as planned
since the first time I have edited this advert was terrible. Everything doesn't
seem to flow together nicely and it doesn't make sense but then after doing it
my way it turned out to be 'really good' which I’m really happy about. Thanks
to my group that our hard work has been paid off. Thank you.

I have copy and paste my final draft in to Microsoft Word to check if there are any spelling and grammar mistakes and as proof that everything was correct I have screen grab the text that came up after checking whether there are mistakes.
